Fast Tips on Importing and Editing Images in Photoshop

Find 12 quick tips on gearing up for importing images and then editing them in photoshop with masks, overlays, and fill layers.


  1. Setup document to correct size

  2. Change the canvas size to add the amounts of the bleed

  3. Add rulers to show the bleed zones

  4. Place images using EMBEDDED

  5. Add new fill color layer

  6. Create mask on image placed

  7. Paint out the part you want to disappear

  8. Make sure black is in the foreground - black hides - white reveals

  9. Make sure the mask layer is selected

  10. Add text and use kerning, tracking, or leading to ensure the font is as you need it

  11. This way you do not have to create more than one text box and adjust each one to match the other.

  12. Make sure the text is san serif, or serif
